Goal7 was engaged in supporting the preparation, drafting and reviewing of EU Innovation Fund application documents as part of the third call for large-scale projects, which included a feasibility study, levelised cost of shipping assessment and business plan. The project aimed to unlock Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in Europe by deploying a new large-scale, highly efficient, competitive and unbundled shipping and storage value chain
Motivation:
Goal7 was engaged in supporting the preparation, drafting and reviewing of EU Innovation Fund application documents as part of the third call for large-scale projects, which included a feasibility study, levelised cost of shipping assessment and business plan. The project aimed to unlock Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in Europe by deploying a new large-scale, highly efficient, competitive and unbundled shipping and storage value chain
Our Approach:
Goal7 worked in collaboration with the project team both in Norway and online. This was achieved by facilitating working sessions, leading the drafting of sections, and reviewing the application documents as a whole. The Goal7 focus areas included:
- Completing a full value chain shipping assessment examining the differences between low-pressure, medium-pressure, and high-pressure shipping from a technical and commercial perspective
- Market analysis involving a description of the market size, customer assessment and mapping of customer opportunities
- Ensured participating companies were aligned on the key messages, objectives and risk identification section of the application
- Provided knowledge and expertise to the shipping team and broader project team
Benefit and Impact: The submitted application to the EU Innovation Fund was very well received by all participating companies and gained positive feedback, scoring 64.5 out of 75 points. During the project, the client gained a better understanding of the various circumstances surrounding CO2 shipping and its levelised costs. Since the funding application, Goal7 has continued to work with the client, maturing customers for the CCS value chain.
