Goal7's client is a well-established logistics and material management company who sought help in data collection and reporting. Goal7 helped the client to achieve this by reviewing and establishing a revised procedure to calculate their company emissions, which in turn supports the clients ability to report on them in sustainability reports, CDP, and TCFD reports.

Goal7's client is a well-established logistics and material management company who sought help in data collection and reporting. Goal7 helped the client to achieve this by reviewing and establishing a revised procedure to calculate their company emissions, which in turn supports the clients ability to report on them in sustainability reports, CDP, and TCFD reports.
Our Approach:
Goal7 initially reviewed the clients established boundary for emissions inventory for scope 1, 2, and 3, alongside water and waste to ensure all sources had been accounted for.
In support of this, working sessions were held with each location to gain an understanding of the clients various operations, emission points and data sources, ensuring a complete overview of their operations. Following this Goal7 created a revised emissions tracker, validating their baseline year and creating a consistent methodology for subsequent years. Supporting the utilisation of the collected data Goal7 turned the data into visual reports on a quarterly basis with commentary for easy understanding. A group operating procedure was also created alongside to ensure clear communication across the client company and to support their ownership of the process.
Goal7 continues to support with emissions tracking and reporting in subsequent years with reviews and training to support their ownership of the data.
Benefit and Impact:
By updating these emissions quarterly, it has given the client oversight to review and track the impact of prior changes, helping with setting future goals. Since starting this, the client has been able to significantly reduce their scope 1 and 2 emissions, water consumption and waste disposal and continues to aim to reduce these alongside scope 3 emissions in the coming years.
Goal7 have helped the client move away from reactive reporting to a stage now where they are able to spend more time assessing their data to evaluate where they can have a greater decarbonising impact, supporting decision making.
